Roots Studio reimagines heritage preservation by digitizing cultural art into intellectual property for licensing. You’re excited about working closely with a creative team that is designing a bespoke, premium, clothing collection, with a distinctive and whimsical brand DNA. You enjoy learning all the ins and outs of creating a collection - sampling, following up closely with vendors to meet deadlines, with an acute eye for details, finishing, and merchandising and making sure the team is successful. You are excited to work with a tight-knit, dynamic team in a high-paced, international and multilingual, social-impact driven environment, aliasing closely with our CEO, Drop Partners, and Operations team on execution. You’re passionate about critically exploring alternate sustainable materials and approaches in the fashion industry, and being future forward in reimagining the future of art and style.

Responsibilities

• Run logistics with sampling, creation, and prototyping, along with event production
• Running errands as needed for event support
• Design, product development, research, logistics, and support sourcing logistics on projects as necessary globally
• Develop small sample products for small-scale manufacturing. Budget, Develop calendar for launch
• Organize our back end library
• Direct in-country community organizers and designers to ensure integrity and representation of artwork while providing market direction

Background and Requirements

• Passion, experience, and understanding for anthropology and global cultures a must
• Strong experience or appetite to work with global cultures, craft and rural sector
• Highly organized with a positive attitude to finish whatever needs to get done
• Simultaneously creative and organized; both short-term and long-term thinker
• Organized in project management, setting goals, deadlines, regular calls, project management, etc.
